Hello dear readers,
I spent such a good day at the beach today. After arriving in a quite disappointing place where we could not really see any interest to stay, we decided to continue a bit further down this ugly and rocky beach with a hope. After climbing some reefs, sliding on some downhills and a bit more efforts we discovered true paradise. A genuine little deserted beach hidden from everything was waiting for us behind these reefs. It was like a discovery of wonder, a land of heaven with sand and even a little waterfall. This showed us that you don 't have to be lured and discouraged by the first appearance of things, 95 % of people would go back and just find another place but by continuing our way and showing some hope and efforts we found this heaven hidden from everybody. Be persistent and curious, don't get discouraged and you will be rewarded. Nice life lesson here !
Today, I want to talk about labels and the way that we humans have a tendency to close ourselves into boxes labeling each things, each individuals and limiting our true potential. I don 't know why we have this habit of thinking that we cannot be a multiple of things, do multiple different things and live completely different life experiences in our lives. I have always been against labels, it is not in my nature to think that because this person is a house builder, he cannot have been to school or have money. If this other individual is fat then he must be unhappy, if you are rich then you are probably selfish and heartless ... etc. I simply hate this, we cannot categorize things like this or we will only see the iceberg above the sea and never under. So many people have more to offer than their first appearance and than the label you put them into. Just don' t label things, it is not because this man drives this car that he has to be this type of man, go deeper into things and you will be rewarded. People put labels as they want to reassure themselves and feel confident that they know their world, this is why just a few of us reach greatness, we are afraid to walk blind in an great unknown world with no labels and we prefer to walk with our own eyes within a small limited world with labels.
On a more personal level, self labeling is also very limiting. I always say that if you put yourself in a box, you will need to think out of the box to get better. The solution is not to put you in this box...be different each day, think about yourself differently, include different things not related to each other... if you tell yourself, I am a salesman, you are limiting yourself to be a salesman and its characteristics, if you say I am a young doctor, you will act and think only as a young doctor. The idea behind my point is not to close and label yourself with anything. You are not young, old, salesman, teacher, selfish , poor, rich, blond, sporty etc... you are YOU, and the you can be everything, do anything and think unlimited. An example is that a teacher who will see himself as a teacher will not use its 100 days holidays a year to work on its passion, build a personal business or write a book... he will tell himself " I m a teacher, I am not an entrepreneur or a writer and he will limit all his real potential.
Very important notion to keep in mind here for you and your world. Make yourself this favor, show open mind and don't Label people or things !
Until then, I wish you a great evening !
